fun

Well we had our first Valentine party for the homeschooling and it was great. The kids have been so funny lately and I really can't think of all the things that they have done at the moment. We are preparing to take pictures tomorrow so fun.
The girls won some money at the meeting Thurs day night and they got to buy so fun things. Like M. got the money and then we told her that she could get any kind of cereal that she wanted. Well it was the marshmallow kind and when she went down the isle she found all the box with the marshmallow in it. Boy was she happy!!!
A has take to praying like a pastor so grown up and big girl. I am having a hard time figuring out whether she is understanding what she is saying or not. Because all of the thing she is praying are true and we have talked about them all. Like Jesus you died on the cross not because you wanted to but because we needed it. You died on the cross not just for me but for everyone and if you hadn't done that we would all have hard hearts. I am just amazed at the dept of her prays but then she opens her eyes and gives me this "aren't you proud of me look with a huge smile." So I am not sure but the Lord is working on her heart and I can tell that she is slowly changing her attitude and that is good.
OK big question has anyone heard the song "not my brother not my sister but it is me oh Lord standing in the need of pray....." Well we were singing all of these songs and A stops we and said that song is not right. She is very adamant that the song is wrong because everyone needs pray. She is right but is there a reason that the song is that way. Does someone else have a slant on that song.
M has be in panties for almost three weeks but the poop has been the hardest part. So we were trying really hard to get to the potty on time. Well the first time that she was poop in the potty she is doing great and is getting excited as am I. Well she is getting so excited that she starts hitting the wall and very aggressively say "come on poop come out.. come out.. come out.." I busted out laugh as I quickly leave the bathroom.
A lost her first tooth and she was in a panic. No she didn't loose it in the natural way most people do. She was trying to open a tooth pick container with the plastic lids and pulled it loose. So for a week or so it was hanging on by a little piece. Then when she was eating ice cream the tooth came out. She was so scared that I though we were going to lose her cool. After talking to her and everything she calmed down and seemed to relax. It helped when the tooth fairy came that night.
We are reading Uncle Remus stories and that is a hard book to read due to the fact that spelling is the way the spoke and sometimes it is almost impossible to decode. But they are great stories that most of you have probably heard before. Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox and the Tar Baby is the best one that most people know. Is so great how he explains stuff.
My oldest is going out to children church in the next week or so. Boy were does the time go. I am amazed at how fast things change and how slow it is at the same time. I am starting up a Parent and child reading club. I am so excited about it. We are going to read a chapter or so a week and then all come together and talk about it and do a craft of some kind. I want it to be one on one time with your child and the parent. Then we will all discuss how it relates to the book. I am think the first one that we will do is the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. I feel that even kids A age can understand the book. Then the older kids could take turns reading with their parent or just read to their parent. I am so excited about it. I want so bad to have a group that loves to read and relate what the read to God. So I will tell you more as me and my co-pilot helps to get this program going.
Found a great new game Bananagrams scrabble but everyone gets their own letters to make their own words with all joining together. Lots of fun (teacher store) 14.99.
Hope to write more later.

That song is in my piano lesson books. The lyrics always bothered me, too. I wish my kids were old enough to be in your book club. That sounds fun.

This song sounds like some of my praying time. I say "Lord, you will take care of ......., but, Lord, it's me that is now in need of prayer." This is usually in a time of not knowing how to handle a situation with another person. I only know that I need prayer and help. The problem is with ME. I know God will take care of the other person in His gentle, kind way.

There is a websit called Kidology.org that sells a 10 companion study download to help you teach about The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. It sounds really great and you can get worksheets and over great stuff. Just go to the website and put the name of the book in the search field. It's $35.00 but it really looks like it might be worth it. Just thought I would pass the info along!
